THE CHALLENGE

 

AlgaeCal was looking for new eCommerce websites for its B2C customer segment. They needed a site that would express the brand’s dream of premium and verifiable stature in the natural supplement space. It would also be flexible enough to scale with future business endeavours and large amounts of educational and consumer engagement content.

 

THE GOAL

 

AlgaeCal looked to us to provide a visually engaging and value-centric solution that would launch them on their pursuit of becoming the leading premium supplements brand of natural bone-healthy products and educator of preventable bone health. Additionally, AlgaeCal sought the engagement of a younger demographic by introducing a three-tiered brand strategy that aligns the product offerings to the needs found during different stages of a customer’s bone-health journey.

 
 

THE PROCESS

 

Our team facilitated a series of focus groups and design workshops between AlgaeCal’s sales and marketing teams to gather information about how key stakeholders/audiences use the current website and identify valued points of view. We also created a survey to determine how key external audiences, including regular, occasional and lapsed customers, interact with the website and overarching AlgaeCal brand. We used the metrics gathered through these engagements to drive the user experience design, identify improvement opportunities and meet the perceived values from both consumer and business perspectives. The collective findings were simple, explaining why they’re better than traditional calcium remedies and clearly presenting scientific research and customer successes to prove it.

 
 
 
 
 

THE CONCLUSION

 

This client was highly collaborative and worked with us through multiple Miro workshops to solve problems and review work. Our team built the site with blog integrations, review services, account management, a customized CSM design bank, and a foundation to expand into subscription price models soon. Our team also built a marketing site to pair with the B2C experience to educate users further and drive traffic to the site through an interactive quiz.

We are working toward a second phase to expand their healthcare professional outreach and market share.
